Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connectors pins. Before replacing any parts change the engine oil with the factory recommend oil weight. The ECMPCM monitors oil pressure in the hydraulic circuit of the VTEC mechanism using the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch) downstream of the rocker arm oil control solenoid (VTEC solenoid valve).
If there is a difference between the oil pressure condition in the hydraulic circuit that is determined by the ECMPCM command and the oil pressure condition that is determined by the status of the rocker arm oil pressure switch (VTEC oil pressure switch), the system is considered faulty, and a DTC is stored. What happens if you put a jumper wire directly across the jacks on the meter See if you can rule out a problem with the meter or the leads. If the zero ohm point is 4.9 ohms and you touch it on that solenoid and it goes from 4.9 to 5.9 ohms, assuming the meter is accurate, that means that the resistance of the solenoid is 1 ohm which is WAY too low and would cause high current about 12-14 amps to go through that circuit when the solenoid is activated. The coil is essentially shorted if that meter reading is correct. P2646 07 Honda Odyssey Driver For TheIf its actually shorted it could have damaged the PCM driver for the solenoid. It might be accurate, we dont know, but that meter isnt trustworthy at this point. P2646 07 Honda Odyssey Code Is SetThis means that the only reason the code is set is due to low oil pressure. Its our task to find out if its mechanical, sensor, wiring or faulty PCM misinterpreting the reading. Have you looked at the freeze frame data, mainly paying attention to two pids; 1. Also monitor pressure readings as you increase and decrease engine RPM. ![]() It is a process my friend but you are learning a lot from your vehicle. This is great info. I think, though, that he doesnt have a scan tool that can do that. ![]() If there is anyone out there reading this who is in the Pittsburgh area Im sure hed be happy to bring it in for a thorough diag on this one. I wish Paul had time to do a video on this system as there arent any videos on it from any of the reputable sources. I am hoping to find a person locally that has a scan tool that can accurately diagnose the problem. I am definitely learning a lot through this process but at this point, without a scan tool I am not sure what more I can do. Thanks.
